On December 17, 2020, Afghanistan Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Afghanistan) virtually launched its network in the presence of participants from the Afghan government ministries, the international community, private sector, academia, non-for-profit organizations, research institutions, and civil society organizations.
Hosted by SDSN Afghanistan secretariat, the launch event was also virtually attended by Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, President of UN SDSN, and H.E. Abas Basir, Minister of Higher Education, as keynote speakers as well as by prominent development leaders working in different sectors in Afghanistan as panel and guest speakers. The event included two sections: an “E-dialogue on the SDGs” and “The official launch event”.
The launch event brought together national and international participants from different sector to update them on objectives, programs, current and future initiatives of SDSN Afghanistan as well as illustrating roles, partnerships and potential cooperative opportunities among relevant stakeholders at national, regional and global levels.
This launch report provides a summary of the key topics discussed during the “E-dialogue on the SDGs” panel and by the keynote speakers and guest speakers at the virtual launch event of SDSN Afghanistan.
